The Titfield Thunderbolt (dir. Charles Crichton) 1953

Restoration + Panel Discussion

Villagers in a beautiful corner of the English countryside are devastated by the news that their local train service is scheduled for closure. Everyone, that is, apart from the operators of the village bus service, who see a chance to make a profit. When the train lovers fight back and volunteer to run the line themselves, chaos ensues…

This classic Ealing comedy is a charming portrait of community and solidarity. Starring such legendary comic performers as Stanley Holloway, Hugh Griffith, and Sid James, this remains one of Ealing’s most fondly-remembered films. LOCO, in partnership with StudioCanal, presents a brand new restoration of the film. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion about the special place that this film and Ealing Studios hold in the UK’s comedy heart.

Movie Magic (dir. Alex Kennedy and Michael Magarren) 2025

UK Premiere + Q&A

Two film-loving ushers rashly wish to be in motion pictures – and then find themselves trapped inside the big screen. To escape, they must navigate their way through a maze of classic film parodies – playing super spies, period heroines and a giant gorilla – while their manager and Britain’s toughest film critic scramble to bring them back to reality.

Filmed on location at the beautiful Phoenix Cinema in London, Movie Magic is a very independent British romantic comedy in which cinema is the star. LOCO is excited to champion this micro-budget British comedy – a gorgeous love letter to film. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the directors and members of the cast and crew.

LOCO Presents in partnership with the Swinging Christies

Murder She Said (dir. George Pollock) 1961

+ podcast recording

After Miss Marple reports witnessing a murder on a passing train, the authorities can find no sign of the corpse and think that the old woman has imagined the whole thing. Undeterred, Miss Marple sets out to find the body. Taking on the job of housekeeper at the spooky Ackenthorpe Hall, she draws on all her skills of deduction and a hell of a golf swing to work out whodunnit.

The first of the 1960s Miss Marple films starring the magnificent Margaret Rutherford, Murder She Said combines suspense, mystery, and a good dollop of comedy. LOCO is thrilled to be joined for a post-screening recording of the hit podcast The Swinging Christies with writer and Agathologist Gray Robert Brown. We will be talking about whether Christie adaptations should ever be funny.

Dog with a Movie Camera (dir. Pablo Álvarez-Hornia and Jack Salvadori) 2026

Plus Blondi (dir. Jack Salvadori) 2025

World Premiere, Dog-Friendly Screening + Q&A

A group of middle-aged men dressed as the Nazi High Command gather in London to attempt a crucial experiment: making the first film entirely shot by a dog.

In 2025, director Jack Salvadori completed the world’s first film shot by a canine cinematographer. Blondi (co-written by legendary filmmaker Peter Greenaway) tells the story of Hitler’s pet Alsatian. Dog with a Movie Camera takes us behind the scenes to get a comic glimpse of the ups and downs of working with a doggy DoP.  To celebrate this world first, LOCO invites you to bring your own dogs to join in the fun. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the directors and members of the cast and crew, including Lexie the Alsatian.
