LOCO believes in championing the craft of comedy film to help boost the British Comedy Film Industry. As a result, our key objectives are to Get It Seen, and Get It Made. At the heart of this ambition is our selection of proprietary training courses.

The selection includes our popular Kickstart Your Comedy Career course for writers, directors and/or producers looking to make a career of their craft, featuring high calibre panellists from the world of Film and TV.

We’re pleased to introduce new, focused, workshops during the main week of the festival, exploring different areas of the craft and business of screen-based comedy.

Discover all things interactive and develop your own digital ideas at Funny Games; take risks and experiment with Birmingham City University’s Experiments in Humour; or take advantage of professional advice and guidance at an Expert One-to-One meeting.   We also present our regular Networking Brunch as part of Shorts Sunday, and for younger filmmakers, are delighted to team up with BFI Raw Shorts for networking and advice for 16-25s.

Join in and see how we can help you take your first, next and further steps in developing your craft and career.
