Welcome to the seventh LOCO London Comedy Film Festival: an exciting array of talented film and TV creators, all joining forces for a weekend of comedy delights on the Southbank.

We are so excited to be back, partnering with BFI Southbank. LOCO continues in its ambition to discover, develop and screen the world’s most original comedy filmmakers, shining a light on promising new talent. This year we are celebrating the love of comedy and the comedy of love because we know that above all, comedy can bring people together. Our love of comedy kicks off with the much-anticipated HORRIBLE HISTORIES: THE MOVIE – ROTTEN ROMANS, opening LOCO 2019. For the first time we’ll be giving audiences another chance to catch our opening night film by featuring a fun-packed Family Premiere on the Sunday, alongside activities for the kids, in partnership with BFI’s Family Funday.

Our love-in continues with four fantastic short film programmes, more awards than ever for new talent, and our biggest programme of comedy film and TV training to date. For the second time we are partnering with MindsEye Productions, who themselves champion surprising and unique work from comedy writers and directors. We are also going big on the comedy of love, with an entire day dedicated to romantic comedy, including the London Premiere of Elizabeth Sankey’s documentary ROMANTIC COMEDY and the 30th Anniversary of much-loved rom-com classic WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, followed by a rom-com karaoke party. The love for new talent continues with Matt Roberts’ debut feature MASTERS OF LOVE filmed in London, and the exciting directorial debut METAL HEART from actor Hugh O’Conor, in partnership with Irish Film London.

A huge thanks to all of our collaborators. The future looks bright for British comedy film and TV and we’re excited to create a place for the next generation to come together, share the love and spawn some comedy brilliance. We look forward to seeing you there.
