LOCO believes in championing the craft of comedy to help boost the British comedy film industry. Our strategy for this is simple: “Get it made, and get it seen”, and in our sixth year we’re thrilled to see so many former trainees screening their work at this year’s festival and beyond.
The heart of our training programme is our Kickstart Your Comedy Career course, which has brought the brightest brains of British comedy to BFI Southbank ever since our first festival. It’s two days of professional training for writers and directors who are ready to turn their passion into a career, whether in film, TV or online.
This year we also return with our Networking Day in the Blue Room. Here, filmmakers can share projects, stories and contacts with each other and get advice from industry experts who will be offering one-to-one advice. With short films screening all day next door in NFT3, it’s the perfect excuse to spend the day at LOCO and meet the right collaborators to get your next project off the ground.
