Nora Ephron, who died this year, was one of the greats of the comedy world. When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail … her best films became cultural moments, with characters, scenes and lines that live far beyond the films themselves.

As part of our focus on women in comedy we’re delighted to be teaming up with the beautiful Lexi Cinema for a special tribute to her, The Ephrathon, on Sunday 27th January. We’re showing three of her best-loved films, one from each era of her career: Heartburn (starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson), Sleepless in Seattle and her award-winning final film Julie and Julia, which stars Streep alongside Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci.

One of Ephron’s great passions was food and cooking, so how better to celebrate her than a bake-off? We’re also hosting a fruit pie baking competition, which will be judged by Sophie Grey of Crazy Baker. The winner will receive a signed copy of Sophie’s book Let’s Make Whoopies and year-long membership for The Lexi Cinema.

Each film will also have a live introduction. For more information and tickets please visit The Lexi Cinema here.
